BABY WORSHIPPERS....

Or as George Carlin calls them, "perpetual diaper sniffers," have it all wrong. Babies, especially unborn fetuses, aren't nearly as important or special as these people claim.

Full of potential, sure, lacking regret, of course, but absolutely worthless they are. They haven't had the time and energy put into them as older folks have. They can't talk or walk. They can't drive. They can't read. They can't work.

They haven't had anyone put the time into their learning. They haven't had anyone nurse them through as many sicknesses or injuries. They haven't had anyone guide them through the complexities of human interactions.

So this begs the question: why are babies so worshipped, especially in the legal system? One can argue that it is because they are defenseless. However, so are children and imapired adults.

Perhaps, since more resources have been poured into older people and they can do more, we should focus on older people more. For example, fewer dollars to in vitro and more into those already here. Doesn't it seem backwards that any idiot can make a baby but there are so many barriers to adopting someone already here? Fewer hours protesting Planned Parenthoodc and more hours spent fostering. Doesn't it seem backwards that we waste so much time debating when we could be spending that time making someone feel safe?

Babies and toddlers are full of potential and cuteness, but they grow up, and if we don't focus on children and adults already here, who do you think will be raising the new generation of babies?
